Hey {{ first_name }} 👋
How have you been? How has your March been so far?
Well, mine was a bit messy, busy, and hectic. I went on a trip shared earlier, enjoyed the mountain vibes, and came back fully motivated.
Lately, I have started posting on Instagram's poetry page, which was long overdue. So the way I’m building on LinkedIn, I thought to focus on what keeps me alive and what is my actual escape.
Started posting last week and getting great response. If you’re into poems, storytelling, and stuff like this, feel free to follow me there. You will find a very different version of me there— vulnerable and raw 🥹
Okay, so this is the one thing that is why I’m a bit busy. I slowed down my writing challenge, too, because I got some other work.
Now, back to the topic we are here today.
Why I’m sharing this
Most DMs don’t get replies, not because you’re bad, but because they all sound the same.
Like Hi, I’m a freelance writer with X years of experience…or similar.
Whenever I talk to writers who are building like me, they usually ask me this — how do you reach out?
Do you have any templates or something that worked for you?
Honestly, not every pitch I send works, but most of them do — sooner or later, I get a reply
And I think that’s because I don’t send generic messages, I try to personalise them a bit so they don’t just get ignored.
So I thought I’d just show you a few of mine, you can take ideas from them, tweak them in your own way, and maybe use them to land your next role or project!!

Hi Name!
Hope you're doing well. Came across your profile when checking (company name) blogs, and your work amazed me.
I've been into this SaaS lately and am looking for a few freelance projects. While checking blogs, I saw that many other freelance writers are writing for (company name), so I'm curious to know how one can write for it.
I want to write for (company name), so could you please let me know if you're looking for freelance writers? If not, I'd be happy to be on your radar for future collaborations.
Happy to share relevant clips for further discussion.
Thanks,
Divya

Hey (Name),
I stumbled on your post via LinkedIn and got to know about (company name) — the name drew my interest and took me to the website. Although I couldn't find anything on the site, but yeah, LinkedIn's presence gave me an idea about what it actually is.
Honestly, I love the vibe that I felt in the intro and the vision you're going to bring. However, there are still some ifs and buts in my mind, but I leave it to our call.
All in all, I got excited to see the vibe and more when I saw that you would need people to grow it, including a writer. And that's where I come in, right?
Well, I'm Divya, an SEO Content Specialist who helps websites, B2B, B2C platforms, and D2C brands improve their visibility that brings traffic and conversions. I have worked with several reputed websites and helped them in nailing their content section. So I'd love to do the same for you. I would want to explore your content requirements to help you with engaging pieces.
Apart from this, I also have a strong understanding of SEO and know how to implement best practices to bring potential results. So I might wear two hats: A strategist and a writer (if you believe in me)
I'd love to connect over a call and discuss further while giving you more killer ideas to grow the website with more of those vibes.
Here I'm attaching my portfolio for your reference.

Looking forward to connecting and discussing the (company name) to bring the (company name) vibes more effectively.

Why it worked:
I actually checked what he’s building
didn’t just say “loved your work.”
matched his energy
didn’t feel like a template
What this shows
Most people send generic DMs, and on the other side, they are getting a lot of those already.
I just try not to sound like everyone else, even a little effort makes a difference, also, getting a reply is just step 1.
What you do after that is what actually creates opportunities
Steal these
Start pitching brands/companies you actually want to work with and let me know if they work for you — I’d love to celebrate with you
Reply to this or dm me on LinkedIn if you’re stuck or need help 😊
That’s it for this edition.
I hope these DM will help you. I caught a cold this week, so I kinda had a headache when writing this, but I had to. In the next edition, I’ll share something more interesting, which I cannot reveal right now, as things are in progress.
Don’t forget to send your love and support to my Instagram page, it is much needed 😭😭
P.S. New here? Check our previous editions to find more useful stuff.
Now I’m going to give my eyes and brain some rest while wrapping this for you. Have a great weekend!!
See you next time 👋
