Hello Guys!

So, how are you all?

I’m sorry as I couldn’t deliver the last two times because of some personal issues, and also I was figuring out a bit more things about what to post next. But now I’m back and will try not to skip any edition.

Well, let’s come back to today’s topic!

So in my previous edition, I talked about how I started my journey and pivoted to the freelance world. And today, as the headlines say, I’ll talk about one of my clients’ website strategies, who I grew from 0 to 46k weekly traffic. Yes!!

See, if you are connected with me on LinkedIn, then you must have seen my post where I shared that I was never a tech writer before, and of course, I used to run away from tech topics. But ek kahavat hai na- “Jis chiz see hum jitna bhaagte hai vo humara utna hi piccha karti hai”

So, let me give you a short context before heading to the content strategies I used for them.

A few months back, I got this client on LinkedIn and found that they are looking for a writer who can write content in the tech, AI, and startup space. Now there’s a catch- I had no experience of writing in this domain but had this gut feeling that- “ let’s apply, what’s worse, I won’t get shortlisted, na. And I think that’s where magic happens for all of us, many times as it did for me.

(Since I have an understanding of SEO and know how to implement it so it gives me a bonus point in front of the client many times)

That said, client shortlisted me and we got on a call and I landed that gig. Well, if you want to know the full story- you can check my linkdein post here.

So when I started working with this client, they explained to me everything about the website and their goals.

What were the initial things?

  • The website was newly launched.

  • They posted very 2-3 blogs that too, without a strategy.

  • No online presence and no visibility on LinkedIn.

  • They had only 120 subscribers.

  • No traffic, no active users.

Basically,

  • There was no content strategy.

  • No keyword plan.

  • No flow.

  • Just a few posts floating in the void.

What they did have was a goal:They said, “We want to drive consistent organic traffic that brings the right audience relevant to our niche and eventually turns into conversations so we can generate revenue.”

What did I do?

  • Created a focused editorial calendar based on the audience and the services we’re providing

  • Conducting research every day for trending and relevant keywords to our niche

  • Started publishing 2-3 posts per day - value-packed, relatable, SEO-friendly, and written originally by me.

  • Brought their LinkedIn presence to life - started posting consistently

  • Plugged internal links, placed keywords strategically in the content, and implemented best SEO practices, the website gets visibility.

Since good things take time so it took us almost 3 months to start seeing results. But you know what, the stats was amazing- even I coudln’t believe on my eyes, when the client shared the analytics.

Of course, I was on cloud nine because I had never worked in this domain before, except for consumer tech posts.

Here is the screenshot of our results we received the first 3 months.

And you know the twist? We had 72% traffic from the US only, that too when we were not targeting them specifically. But algorithm did some magic I guess, haha.

And after 4 months of consistency and strategy:

  • Traffic jumped from 0 to 45,000+ weekly visitors

  • Keywords started ranking organically (and bringing the right clicks)

  • LinkedIn engagement improved- not viral, but consistent, thoughtful, and increasing followers.

  • Feedback started coming in from people who had read the content

Honestly, I got up one day with these comments, and it made my day! And my client was super happy with my results.

The interesting part?

All this- without ads. Without cold outreach.Just words doing their quiet job in the background.

Most people ignore content power and start focusing on other aspects. But they forgot that posting blogs won’t cost you anything, but will give you so much. It brings visibility, traffic, conversion, and most importantly, your loyal audience!

Foundation is very important because once you’ve built that, your website starts gaining its authority and credibility from Google, which attracts the audience.

Even today, I’m following the same old strategy and have added a bit more things, but certain things have changed and improved (in me and my website).

For our website?

  • Our average traffic is constant

  • We have active users

  • We have constant traffic from the US

For me?

  • Polished my writing skills, especially for writing in the tech space

  • Learned how to handle social media, especially LinkedIn,n as a ghostwriter (feel free to reach out for ghostwriting services)

  • Got visibility from some top startups or brands

  • Got another byline in the tech and AI space

Consistency. Showing up every day and being patient.

This is a deadly combination that can turn everything down in your favour.

Because when you’re visible at the right place and at the right time, you start getting results.

(Btw, to flaunt a little bit, let me tell you that I recently had my first flight experience, which was also sponsored by my client, hihi yes. They were happy and gave me this reward for my work, and trust me, that was the best feeling ever.

So, if you’re thinking of the right time, then don’t and start being visible now.

Wanted to share some of my personal and professional achievements, but let’s keep that for next newsletter.
