Hey you 👋

How was your 2025?

Well, mine ended so great. I planned to share my 2025 wrap earlier, but got so caught up that sharing it now, at least before the end of this month. Lol!!

I remember when everybody was sharing their 2025 wrap, and I was juggling deadlines. The last month of 2025 was so hectic that I had so much on my plate.

Sleepless nights, 12-13 hours continuous work, sipping coffee at 3 am, and going to bed at 5 am. Yes, that was my routine to meet deadlines. But it is normal for every freelancer in the end of the month.

Although I had no extra load and just my client work and #30daysSaaSWritingChallenge, I got an opportunity that I couldn’t bear losing. I had so much on my plate, but still I managed to work on that, and guess what it led to— MY FIRST SAAS BYLINE on a reputable website.

I had so much fun and learnt a lot writing this piece as I interviewed SMEs to ask questions and understand user problems in real-world scenarios. Afterall, that’s what my goal was when doing the SaaS writing challenge.

Soon after, I got my second byline for the blog I wrote as part of the SaaS writing challenge.

What went right in 2025:

  • Took on a finance writing project — my first serious work in a new domain→ forced me to slow down, double-check facts, and write with responsibility

  • Moved toward external contributions & interview-based blogs→ learned how much stronger writing gets when it’s built on real voices

  • Started a SaaS writing challenge to build consistency and product thinking→ focused on clarity, user perspective, and real use cases

  • Began pitching websites alongside writing→ started shaping blogs to match specific publications, not just generic posts

  • Landed my first byline at Mobile Text Alerts before the year ended→ another byline followed soon after

My 2026 started with a boost in confidence when I worked on two bylines, which shaped my perspective on writing and taught me so much.

But this year, what I’m building toward

  • At least 5 bylines while continuing the SaaS writing challenge

  • Pitching challenge blogs to relevant websites

  • Working on more D2C, Finance, and SaaS projects

  • Increasing outreach and pitching for client work

  • Using this newsletter more intentionally — to share work, thinking, and land the right projects

  • Becoming a SaaS writer who understands products from the user’s point of view, not just features

I’m also thinking about a content calendar for LinkedIn and my newsletter. Feel free to share topic ideas if you want me to cover something specific, especially if you’re building in SaaS like me.

I have also started using a lead tracker to keep track of my clients and see which ones worked.

Well, that’s it for today. I will share how I landed my first byline in the next edition.

Don't dare to miss that, and subscribe if you haven’t…hahaha sorry, had to be promotional.

Although I have shared these bylines and my SaaS writing challenge on my LinkedIn, you can follow me there to read more about them.

Btw, I also posted BTS of the first byline, do check it out if you want to understand the research process behind a SaaS piece.

So, that’s all for today, and I’ll keep you posted on my SaaS challenge and next byline— I’m planning to get.

See you next Sat ;)
